Community Guidelines
Version 2026-10-22
We are rebuilding Michiana in a video game, one street at a time. These rules keep contributors safe and the footage useful. Breaking them gets uploads rejected and accounts, devices or networks banned.
Great uploads
- Streets, intersections, storefronts, houses from the sidewalk, landmarks, parks, bridges, rail crossings, farms seen from the road, signs and road markings anywhere in Michiana (Elkhart, St. Joseph, LaGrange, Kosciusko, Marshall, Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph (MI) counties and nearby).
- Steady, slow pans; daylight; the camera held level. For buildings, a straight-on shot plus both corners.
- Driving footage filmed by a passenger, or from a fixed dash mount you set up before driving.
- Say where it is in "Where was this recorded?" (street names help a lot).
Stay safe and legal
- Never handle your phone while driving or cycling. Pull over or let a passenger record.
- Film from public places. Do not trespass, climb fences, or enter private property without the owner's permission.
- Do not film into windows of homes, inside private spaces, or in places where people expect privacy (restrooms, changing rooms, schools during the school day, medical offices).
Not allowed
- Nudity or sexual content of any kind; anything involving minors in a sexual or exploitative way (reported to NCMEC and police).
- Violence, gore, cruelty to animals, or footage of crimes or accidents taken for shock value.
- Close-ups that single out identifiable people, children, licence plates or house numbers when that is the point of the shot. Passers-by in a street scene are fine; focusing on them is not.
- Harassment, threats, hate symbols or anything filmed to target a person or group.
- Footage you did not take yourself, screen recordings, copyrighted media, AI-generated or edited fakes presented as real.
- Spam, duplicates, random or blank recordings, or anything meant to waste reviewers' time or storage.
- Getting around limits or bans with new accounts, devices, VPNs or other networks.
Enforcement
Uploads that break these rules are deleted. Depending on how serious it is we warn, suspend for a time, or permanently ban the account, the device and the network it came from. Report problems through the contact form.
